My client, a leading financial services company in Nottingham, is searching for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to support the department head in devising and maintaining effective systems and controls. Your role will focus on managing regulatory risks and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Head of Compliance in developing, refining, and sustaining 2nd line "Customer Outcome" metrics and assessments.

  • Design additional assurance evaluations to guarantee excellent customer outcomes.

  • Manage all information requests from regulators (FCA, ICO, etc.), shareholders, and trade associations.

  • Represent my client in relevant external committees and gatherings.

  • Perform "Horizon Scanning" to recognise the effects of regulation and market best practices on the business.

  • Deliver in-depth compliance guidance and approval, ensuring customer-centric thinking and decision-making.

  • Offer regulatory compliance education and training to support the business.

  • Direct BAU Operations in establishing and maintaining robust compliance.

Desired Qualities:


  • Basic knowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to my client (Consumer Duty, CONC, GDPR, etc.).

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence others.

  • Experience utilizing data and statistics for informed decision-making through strong numeracy skills.

  • Solid organisational and time management capabilities.

  • Positive approach to implementing change.

  • Receptive to constructive feedback and willing to learn.

  • Skilled in conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing.

  • Proactive, assertive, with exceptional problem-solving skills and practical decision-making based on commercial awareness.

  • Possess an ICA qualification or equivalent in Compliance, or the desire to study towards a similar qualification.
