My client in Daventry is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the Group Finance Controller in maintaining financial records and handling cash. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing purchase and sales invoices, managing supplier accounts, and reconciling company credit cards and employee expenses. This role also involves daily bank account reconciliations, assisting with cashflow reports, and contributing to month-end and statutory reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Timely and accurate processing of purchase and sales invoices
- Resolving supplier and customer disputes
- Managing supplier and customer accounts
- Reconciling credit card statements, employee expenses, and bank accounts
- Assisting with cashflow reports and month-end reporting
- Supporting other departments as needed
- Complying with H&S and environmental management systems
- Continuous improvement and creative problem-solving
The ideal candidate will have experience in an accounts position, preferably with knowledge of ERP systems. Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential, along with excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT skills are required, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute to the department's success.
A flexible and self-motivated attitude is important for this role, as well as a willingness to be adaptable with working hours to ensure tasks are completed on time. AAT support will be provided for the right candidate.
