Job description
Cordius is looking for a Service Engineer who would cover South East (Cambridgeshire area) to join a company in Hope Valley, on the outskirts of Sheffield. The company is a well-known, leading manufacturer of heat technology used in furnaces and ovens for the laboratory and process markets with more than 65% of sales coming from Export markets.

The successful candidate will be a time served engineer with good industrial background and will be providing servicing maintenance, fault finding, breakdowns and diagnostics across company’s equipment.

The successful candidate will be a time served engineer with good industrial background and will be providing servicing maintenance, fault finding, breakdowns and diagnostics across company’s equipment.
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide cover primarily in the South-East of the United Kingdom but also cover the entire UK as dictated by the workload.
- Servicing of customer’s products to include: -
- Fault finding & diagnostics
- Re-insulation (preparation of materials and assembly) – Ceramic fibers / materials.
- Metalwork fabrication (preparation of simple components)
- Electrical wiring.
- Pneumatics/hydraulics.
- Configuration of temperature controllers and recorders.
- Thermocouple replacement.
- Test (final inspection / burn-off / function testing of repaired products).
- Contract inspection and reporting.
- Calibration of digital temperature indicators & workspaces.
- Temperature surveying.
- Thermography.
- To work to the health and safety procedures laid down by the Company.
- To attend on and off-site training as required to fulfil the role requirements.
- To attend regular meetings at the Hope Office in Derbyshire.
- The position will require some travel, so an ability to accept unsociable hours and/or overnight stays from time to time will be required.
- Occasional travel outside of the UK will be necessary.
- Record keeping and system administration.
Key skills and qualifications:
- Suitable candidates will ideally be from an industrial background and have a minimum of C&G or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations and at least 3 years' experience
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics/drawing and experience with wiring special purpose machinery.
- Site installation and accreditation to 18th Edition wiring regulations would be advantageous.
- A full clean driving licence is required.
