Job description

Cordius is working with a very successful independent materials testing company, equipped and accredited to test and analyse a range of materials such as aggregates, bituminous, concrete, rock & Soil. They are looking to add an experienced Soils and Aggregates Laboratory Technician to their team in Draycott.
The successful candidate will prepare and test a range of construction materials in accordance with the Company’s Quality Procedures and Health & Safety Systems as well as published technical specifications and standards. The laboratory is a fast action paced environment with a lot of manual labour. You will learn to operate a range of test equipment and machinery and understand the concept of pre-user safety checks and calibrations.

Key Elements:
  • Experience must include BS 1377 basic classification and compaction tests
  • Sample Preparation
  • Knowledge of UKAS procedures
  • Booking in of samples and good housekeeping skills
  • Operate a range of test equipment and machinery
  • Complete documentation in both electronic and paper formats
  • Reliable, hardworking person with a good attention to detail
  • Good timekeeping is essential
  • Full driving License
  • Working Hours 40 per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00pm
  • Could involve Saturday working and overtime.
