Job description

Cordius is looking for Engineering Shift Area Managers to join a well-known, international company that offers a bespoke and unique environment where every day is different, unpredictable and lively. The successful candidate will be managing one of the Engineering Shifts and be responsible for a team consisting of Team Leaders and Engineers.

You will be responsible for equipment safety and availability, stores and inventory and ensuring that winter maintenance plans are deliverable and well-planned.

Key Objectives:
  • Manage the shift engineering to ensure the equipment remain safe and operational as required to meet the companies opening schedule
  • Manage the engineers to improve the equipment availability through data analysis and working group forums
  • Support and oversee the annual maintenance schedule for the equipment
  • Manage the through-life management plan for all designated engineering assets
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Engineering Team Leaders to ensure that every equipment is repaired on-time, efficiently and safely to maximise availability
  • Manage the Engineering Team Leaders and the Multi-Skilled Engineers to fully review the equipment breakdowns to find innovative and cost-effective ways to reduce failures and costs while improving availability and safety
  • Manage the annual maintenance schedule, including spares orders and work prioritisation to maximise productivity for the engineers and minimise downtime
  • Provide subject matter expertise for future projects requiring technical expertise relating to maintenance and availability
  • Be prepared to support the engineering management team, regularly working weekends and bank holidays
  • Where necessary, personally carry out PPM checks and pre-operational safety checks on equipment where qualified to do so
  • Lead the development of the annual inspection programme within area of responsibility. To ensure that the annual service programme is suitably resourced, and that progress is monitored and reported as required
  • Work with external bodies (LTC, FINCH, RJA etc) in order to ensure compliance with HSG175 (2017) and, whenever feasible, to predict asset performance over time
  • Assist with recruitment of all engineering staff
  • Manage annual leave, TOIL and absence of staff as per the company policy
