The Company is an international leader in electronic and information technologies for defence systems, aerospace, data, infrastructures, land security and protection and sustainable ’smart’ solutions. They are entering a period of expansion offering exciting opportunities to work at the forefront of technology. 

They are looking for a Contracts Manager to join their Electronic Warfare Line of Business; the successful candidate will be required to help support the maintenance of current and development of new relationships with a wide portfolio of Customers within domestic, US & European Markets for rotary and fixed wing platforms. 

Key Responsibility Areas: 

  • Provide commercial and contract management guidance to Integrated Project Teams
  • Manage and develop a team to achieve the goals of the business
  • Act as the customer's key point of contact for all contractual matters
  • Be responsible for preparation & submission of compelling commercial proposals
  • Provide a high degree of understanding of the business Life Cycle Management and business processes with an ability to apply them independently to meet business objectives.
  • Manage the commercial bid approval process in accordance with the company's procedures with mitigation of risk as appropriate.
  • Work with the Legal Department and IPTs to prepare, draft and negotiate Customer terms and conditions of contract and other non-standard agreements
  • Work closely with Procurement to ensure flow down of key Customer Terms and Conditions
  • Identify areas for personal development to enhance capabilities that add value to the business
  • Business approvals within delegated authority 

 Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:

 You really must have:

  • Ability to operate as a locally acknowledged expert within the function. And able to work autonomously
  • High level of customer intimacy in both internal and external relationships
  • Possesses expertise to be called upon as a commercial advisor for specific complex assignment
  • Ability to apply a high degree of understanding of the business Life Cycle Management and business processes and ability to apply them independently to meet business objectives
  • Ability to engage and influence cross-functional/cross site teams
  • Manage the performance and identify development opportunities for your team
  • Manage and develop a team to achieve the goals of the business 

It would be nice if you had:

  • Degree, professional qualification and/or significant domain experience
  • Ability to promote a culture of best practice and sharing of knowledge within the function and across the wider business
