| Software Support Analyst This is a great opportunity to join a successful software company in Derby who provide software applications to the environmental market. Due to recent business wins they are looking to recruit and additional person into their support team. You will be tasked with the support (helpdesk & email & occasional visits to customer premises) of bespoke software solutions which run on Microsoft Windows platform written in Delphi, C#, .NET and SQL Server. You will be a logical thinker, good at problem solving & investigating issues, be very customer focused and have an excellent telephone manner; ideally with previous experience of working in a support environment supporting & solving databases issues. Requirements: Experience and understanding of SQL databases. Experience of Financial Applications (SOP/POP/Sage etc) and/or Bespoke Software. Previous exposure to Service Desk call logging Systems. Strong organisational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills with an effective telephone manner. Ability to work effectively as part of an established team and on own initiative. Be of smart appearance, confident and have a customer focused approach. Be locally based, flexible and hold a full UK driving license. Core activities: Understanding, analysing and solving a variety of software application problems & user requests. Undertaking technical support/fault rectification, which will include telephone support and occasional visits to customer premises. Occasionally assisting in new application testing and writing test plans. Performing software upgrades and installations. Desirables: Relevant Microsoft qualifications are advantageous, MCTS/MCP certifications on Microsoft SQL Server.
