| IT Security Technician Microsoft MCSE and Cisco CCNA Specialist IT Communications and Network Services Organisation who provide a wide range of support and services to a number of secure and military organisations internationally require an IT Networking and Server Technician. Specialising in the field of Secure IT Transmissions and Network Infrastructure your remit will include networking [Microsoft Server] and secure comms, including switches, routers, radio equipment (RF), CCTV equipment, mobile data technology and high level encryption equipment. Working across both hardware and software you will monitor, support and deliver IT excellence for a portfolio of clients. Working with secure and secret level data your knowledge of communication systems and how they integrate within secure environments will be tested on a daily basis. Working in pressurised environments your ability to remain level headed and deliver to strict SLA’s within a team environment is what sets you out from your peers. Job Title: IT Security Technician Location: Birmingham Salary: Up to £34k Skills: MCSE,CCNA, Networking, Comms, Security As this roles focus is security we are ideally looking for candidates who have experience of Defence Standards JSP440/480 although not essential. Good knowledge of communication network architectures (remote site, data centre, remote access) so Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) qualification is desirable. A recognised qualification in client server systems (Linux / Microsoft) would also be desirable with knowledge and a high degree of skill in diagnosing problems & packet analysis for troubleshooting. Must have excellent client communications skills, and experience of working in a dynamic team environment for an outsourcing business. Knowledge and demonstrable experience around routing and switching technologies such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, HSRP & VRRP is desirable. Knowledge and experience around VPN technologies specifically IPSec LAN to LAB and VPN client software or similar would be beneficial. An awareness and understanding of encryption techniques and secure operating procedures and principles would also be beneficial. Knowledge and experience of ITIL standards are desirable. In order to be considered for this role you will need to have a valid UK passport and a clean driving license and reliable method of transport as you may be required to visit alternative sites as part of your role. The ideal candidate will be security cleared at DV level or be able to pass DV Security Clearance. You will have a high standard of professionalism and be an exceptional communicator. It is expected that the ideal candidate will have around 5 years experience working within a Secure IT systems business, although ex-forces personnel will be considered.
