| Business Objects Developer, BO, Analyst Programmer, Business Intelligence, BI, MI, SQL, SQL Server, DB2, Informix, Oracle, East Midlands, Leicester. An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Information Warehouse Team of this leading household name. Reporting to the Senior Analyst Programmer, the role involves support, maintenance and development of the Information Warehouse applications and Business Objects environment in accordance with project plans. Your main responsibilities will include: Understand/assist with data loads and summarisation processes. Assist in the creation of complex data retrieval using SQL interrogation tools. Liaising with data providers and the business. Provide support and resolve queries and issues on behalf of business users. Business Analysis and problem solving. Maintain, support and develop Business Objects Universes and reporting systems in a format focussed on, and easily understood by, users in the business area concerned using the appropriate data sources. Documentation of IT Processes. Evaluate new software/techniques as required. Ensure that all developments adhere to company change management procedures. Provide support and assistance to Trainee Analyst Programmers. Experience / Skills Required: Experience of working with large scale Relational Databases. Ability to write SQL statements to a reasonable standard and understand how objects in Relational Databases and/or Data Warehouses relate to each other. Experience of shell scripting and working within an AIX UNIX OS. Business Objects development & deployment in a large environment (XIR2 preferred). Business Analysis and Problem Solving skills. Teamwork experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position would also benefit from experience in the following areas: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 including Analysis Services, Reporting Services and Integration Services. Microsoft Performance Point or ProClarity. Degree in Computer Science or similar is an advantage. Use of scripting language (VBA) to automate batch reporting.
